Join us on these upcoming Monday Fund Days: December 15th - Nadus Films They believe love demands justice. Their purpose is to use our gifts and resources to document the story of the Sudanese, and share it with the world. Treading gently as servants, they seek to touch the lives and hearts of the war torn nation of Sudan, by bringing them hope for a peaceful future.
The objective at Nadus is to release a film that will bring both awareness and action in helping the war-torn nation of Sudan rebuild. The film “The New Sudan” will educate its viewers on the history of the civil war that was fought between the heavily Islamic north and largely Christian south. More importantly, the viewers will be educated on the prospect of sustainable peace in southern Sudan. Most documentaries leave the viewer at the level of awareness with no action. “The New Sudan” will give many outlets for those desiring to serve and/or give to the partners in Sudan who are actively making a change. The money invested into Nadus Films will directly go to the making and distribution of “The New Sudan” and in effect, the rebuilding of Southern Sudan.

January 26th - St. John Center for the Homeless It first opened its doors in1986 and since then has provided services for homeless men in Louisville. Their mission is to create an atmosphere that encourages homeless men to envision a life of hope, take shelter, and find rest by treating each person with dignity and respect, and supporting them in addressing the problems that led them to homelessness. The center is open 7 days a week from7am-3pm with an average of 175 clients served a day.
They have three different programs: the first is the emergency day shelter and social services center- which provides access to hot showers, restrooms, hot coffee and cold water, local and long distance telephones, mail service, and fax service. They also help with job and housing referrals, general clothing items, assistance filling out food stamp and disability claims, assistance with birth certificates, identification letters, and mental health counseling.
The second is the supportive housing program- it helps men obtain and maintain a safe, decent, affordable, housing by subsidizing rental and providing the daily and weekly support of a social worker. In 20 months St. John’s has helped 25 men leave homelessness for good.
The third is the residential recovery program- this is for the men who identify drug or alcohol as the primary factor in becoming homeless. The program pays for transitional housing for up to 14 months while the men learn sober-living skills, increase education or job skills, and prepare to move to permanent housing.
Thank You for your support!!!
